In order to boost exports, we open our latest Bulletin by looking at a new range of advice and financial support being provided by UK Export Finance. The new support packages are particularly designed to encourage small businesses to become first-time exporters.

The Financial Conduct Authority has issued revised regulations for the Peer to Peer market. Whilst focused on protecting private investors, could the measures impact the flow of funds available for lending to small businesses?

Recently we have seen more lenders partnering up with other small business service providers to improve access to finance. The service providers may not be directly in the financial services sector, but the partnerships are a win-win for all parties. Who are the latest businesses to link up to expand availability of finance?

With the government keen to boost exports, UK Export Finance has announced a new support initiative to help improve the flow of finance to exporters. To open the Bulletin, we look at how it will work and which other businesses will benefit.

Access to finance remains a hot topic. We share findings and suggestions from a new report, ‘Banking Small Businesses’, which it’s hoped will be picked up by government and banks to boost small business funding opportunities.

Whenever we feature the problems surrounding late payment, it’s rare that there is any good news. Whilst a recent survey undertaken by BACS, the payment service provider, has its fair share of gloomy statistics, there is at least one glimmer of hope in terms of reducing late payments.

The recent Autumn Statement saw the Chancellor announcing two initiatives to assist growing businesses. In this Business Finance Bulletin, we look at support the Chancellor is giving to boost exports and of the additional funding granted to the British Business Bank for businesses in search of equity finance.

New research carried out by Axa Business Insurance reveals that small businesses remain relatively buoyant in 2016 but as we discuss, 2017 looks less certain.

We are seeing more finance schemes designed to get funding to businesses in certain geographical areas. In this Bulletin, we look at an announcement from Market Invoice of its tie up with the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership which will see up to £2 million available to Leeds-based business via invoice discounting.

In this episode of the Business Finance Bulletin a look at Atom Bank, a new online-only bank which has announced that it is now targeting small businesses following approval of its SME lending service.

Back to the traditional High Street banks, Lloyds Bank has announced the launch of it 2016 SME Charter. Their pledges include support for new businesses wishing to start exporting and targets in terms of lending to small businesses.

Recent Bulletins have featured surveys reporting that small business confidence is on the wane but in this Bulletin we share positive findings from the latest Bibby Financial Services SME Confidence Tracker, which counter previous negativity.
